Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Indy Hyperbarics based?
Indy Hyperbarics is based in Greenwood, Indiana and serves Indianapolis and surrounding Central Indiana communities. We offer in-home hyperbaric chamber rentals and handle delivery, setup, education, and pickup directly at your home.
Do you have a physical clinic location?
No. Indy Hyperbarics focuses exclusively on in-home hyperbaric chamber rentals. This allows clients to complete sessions on their own schedule without daily travel or appointments. Our rentals require a minimum one-month commitment.
What type of hyperbaric chamber do you offer?
We rent the Vitaeris 320 soft-sided mild hyperbaric chamber. This system operates at approximately 1.3 ATA and is designed for in-home use. It is paired with an oxygen concentrator and is widely used for personal wellness and recovery routines.
How long is a typical session?
Most sessions are about 60 minutes. Some individuals choose shorter or longer sessions depending on comfort and personal goals. We provide general guidance so you can establish a routine that works best for your household.
How often can I use the chamber?
Many clients choose daily sessions, especially during the first few weeks of their rental. Others prefer five to six days per week. Consistency tends to be more important than intensity when using a mild hyperbaric chamber.
How long do people usually rent a chamber?
Most rentals are one to three months. This allows enough time to build a consistent routine and fully integrate sessions into daily life. Longer rentals are available based on availability.
Can more than one person use the chamber?
Yes. One of the benefits of in-home rentals is that multiple household members can use the chamber during the rental period at no additional cost, as long as everyone follows the provided guidelines.
What should I wear during a session?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing made of cotton or mostly cotton. This helps minimize static and keeps sessions comfortable.
Can I bring anything inside the chamber?
You may bring items like a book, tablet, phone, or headphones, as long as electronics are in good condition and free of damage. We will review safety guidelines with you during setup.
Is anything not allowed in the chamber?
Jewelry, watches, perfumes, colognes, lotions, hair products, and anything oil-based should not be worn during sessions. Pockets should be emptied before entering the chamber.
Do I need to eat before a session?
Most people feel best eating a light meal or snack at least 20 to 30 minutes before a session. Avoid heavy meals immediately beforehand.
How soon do people notice changes?
Every person is different. Some notice subtle changes within the first week, while others report benefits after several weeks of consistent use. Mild hyperbaric therapy is generally viewed as a cumulative wellness practice.
Is mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe for home use?
When used properly and as instructed, mild hyperbaric chambers are considered very safe for in-home use. We provide hands-on setup, education, and ongoing support throughout your rental.
Do you offer medical advice or treatment plans?
No. Indy Hyperbarics does not provide medical care, diagnosis, or treatment. We rent hyperbaric equipment and provide operational guidance only. Clients are encouraged to consult their healthcare provider for medical questions.
Does insurance cover hyperbaric chamber rentals?
Insurance typically does not cover in-home hyperbaric chamber rentals. Some clients choose to use HSA or FSA funds, depending on their plan. We recommend checking directly with your provider.
